Square Appointments: I can't add the 'Book' button to my Instragram business account

Hi I tried every possible way to make the book button on my Instagram business account and I can’t.

I went ahead and merged your post to an existing thread where other Square Sellers have discussed this as well. We merge duplicate conversations together to keep like comments in one place, and to make it easier for others to find the thread in the future. 

 

I suggest starting out with these troubleshooting steps:
 

When you’ve synced Square Appointments with Meta for Business, you may receive an Admin Permission Required message. This error occurs when the admin of a Facebook Business page or Instagram Business profile requires admin access to the Facebook Business Manager account to make changes.

 

For a staff/team member trying to connect, they will need to enable the permissions set via Facebook Business Manager. To do so, go to Account & Settings > Manage subscriptions to Square services.

  • For Add-on Businesses, access Facebook Support — this will provide an email and chat option.
  • For Admin Permissions issue, select the Selecting and connecting assets topic.

To get admin access granted to add a Book Now Button, visit the Meta Business Help Center, particularly this help article: Add People to a Business Account and Add a Business Asset.

Figured out how to get the book button again. However, I used to be able to add a swipe up to book from stories, but it’s gone. How can I get that back??

As of June 19th 2020, this is a known issue.

 

Using the Instagram app (and **not** the website), you try to add a Square Appointments call to action button to Instagram business account. At the end of the process you get an error:

"Can't Connect to Appointments for Square"

 

Telephone support told me that they are working on it and hope for a solution by the end of the month. Likely an issue on the Instagram end. Will require app update.

Hello,

 

While we were shut down due to COVID-19 we added the "purchase a gift card" banner to the booking site and Instagram.  Now that we have re-opened, I need to know how to remove that banner and re-link square bookings back to our Instagram. I've already disabled the gift card feature, but that didn't seem to do the trick and when I tried to re-link the book button on Instagram it only gives me an option to add gift cards. Please help!

Not sure what you mean by a gift card banner on your booking site. Can you send a screenshot of what you see?

 

As for linking Instagram to Appointments, our Product Team is in communication with IG concerning a recent bug that's causing issues with integrating. A fix will require an app update, so stay on the look out on for an update on this thread I moved you to.

My button just went missing today and I can’t figure it out. 
I tried re-adding and it sent me to my log in, I followed all the steps and it still isn’t coming up on my page.

I’m currently having issues with my “book” link for my Instagram. 

I use it for business as a barber and have always been able to use the book button and “swipe up” feature with it being linked to square. 

Yes I have My Instagram set to business and yes I activated it on my appointment square app to allow online booking. 

Is there anyone else experiencing this issue all of a sudden? It randomly disappeared a couple of days ago. 

I’m currently having to attach a link to my bio for “website” currently but that doesn’t fix the professional appeal and also now I cannot Use the swipe up feature I have been using for such a long time.

No resolution yet. Recent response I got from Square Appointments Support

 

"Some sellers are still experiencing errors when trying to connect Instagram on IOS to Square Appointments. Our team has continued to report the issues to Instagram to help expedite a resolution on their end. Sorry this is not fixed yet. Make sure you have the most up to date version of the Instagram app for any improvements made by Instagram when they release the fix for it."

On my Instagram page I can see the “book now” option for clients, but they DM me saying they do not see the option on their end. I don’t change anything so I don’t get why it appears on some people page and on others it doesnt.Why does this keep happening, how can I fix it?

I have just created a square booking website and i am unable to add the “book”

i have a business page and the website is turned on

I know Instagram was experiencing issues with the book button but it should now be resolved.

 

Have you followed the instructions all the way through to add it? If so- I'd recommend contacting our direct CS team and requesting an appointments specialist to take a closer look with you.

I have an Instagram business account and my Square online booking is available, yet I am unable to add the Booking button in my business Instagram account.  Getting the error "Profile not eligible: your profile can't use this feature because it requires a new Facebook Business Manager account."  P.S. I also have the Facebook Business Manager account enabled and linked with my Instagram business account.  Please help!

I am trying to add a booking button to my Instagram business account. Every time I try to follow that steps listed, (go to profile, click on edit profile, click business contact info, click add button, click square appointments) it comes up with an error saying my account can’t use that feature because I need a new Facebook business manager account. I already have a fb business manager account and it is already linked to my Instagram. There’s nothing else I can do from instagram, Facebook business manager, OR square appointments to fix this. HELP.

So sorry to see your trouble integrating Square Appointments with Instagram - this is very strange, indeed. I did some quick digging on our side on whether or not there had been previous reports of this issue. I was able to find this separate thread of Sellers who also experienced this issue. This Best Answer from Ashley suggests that Sellers were able to rectify this one by reaching out to Instagram directly to insure that Facebook Business Manager integration is acting correctly. 

 

I've gone ahead and merged your post into this existing thread of Sellers who were also looking for information regarding this issue. Please keep us updated on your progress - we want to make sure this gets solved for you!

I am trying to add a Book button to my Instagram page but have been unsuccessful. Previously, I was able to get to the step where they were Connecting but then the page would close seconds later. Now, there is not even an “Add an Action Button” while editing my contact info. I am not the only person I know this has happened to and we are all very lost.
