Print customer name on receipt

This has been requested by Square users since at least 2017 yet it seems the feature has still not been rolled out.

 

It is imperative that customer names print on the receipt, not just the last four digits of the credit card number.

We manually enter card information from our donors and then shred the paperwork for privacy protection. There is no way to retrieve this data if human error misses the step of hand-writing the donor's name on the printed receipt.

If the name was already on the receipt, we also wouldn't have to print a copy.

We need customer name, phone #, and address on the receipt.

1-That way when customers show up at the store and asks for "Mike's order" we don't have to ask order number which definitely customer doesn't remember and we don't have to go to register and dig to find the customer and their order. 

2-we can give the receipt to driver to deliver the order to customers' addresses.

Its very important to have a customer address show up on a delivery ticket. When you don't, youre making a lot of assumptions. 1, youre saying the person who delivers the product should be responsible for using cellular data in order to find customers. 2, It implies that the retailer doesnt own the use of of their own customer data. I understand that CC information should be private and encrypted, however the customer realizes that in order to get a product delivered from a reatiler, they have to make un-private this information. 3. By it not printing the customer address on the ticket, it puts too much information at the hands of delivery drivers. You are now giving them access to an entire customer dataset when they only need 1 address. 4. No contact delivery in california means that retailers need to process cards without forcing drivers to exchange materiels with customers.

Having the option to include Customer Names on our printed receipts would really help. I'm surprised this isn't already an option/the default setting...

This is a design problem. Square did not consider businesses such as pizzerias in the how the POS system works in conjunction with the customer database. It needs to be able to print customer name and address when "delivery" is chosen as the take out method. I think it is possible to fix this but they aren't committing resources to it. 

We are switching over to Square from Quickbooks POS and we ABSOLUTELY NEED the customer name printed on the receipt (and preferably the address and phone #)!!!  It's pretty devastating that Square doesn't do this, especially when it is such a frequently requested feature by your customers!  Having the customer name (and address/phone) is necessary because we take multiple phone orders and work throughout the day to fulfill them.  Currently with QB POS, we can work from a paid receipt, and simply call the customer when it is ready for pick up.  When they come to pick up they can simply let us know their name and we find the paid receipt and items in our Order Pick Up area. 

Please implement this feature!!

Any update on this request?

I would also very much like to have the printed customer's name as an option to add to the receipt. We have to submit receipts as proof of purchase for warranties and it would make it much easier to match up the correct receipt with the warranty submission. Square, we should not have to add this as a note and slow down the transaction process when we have already built the customer record and Square could easily make this an option to add to the receipt.

Is there an update on this 95% of my customers need this and some have left square. It’s essential to print customer name and address on the receipts

No updates at this time @SStrickland I recommend you submit a Feature Request here. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers' interest in your request.

 

Important: When submitting a request, make sure to include the desired feature, and provide the details of how this feature will help your business succeed (how would you use it and what you expect from it).

 

In the meantime, have you considered Square Invoices? These would include the customer's information when sent.
